i think you're being unfair blaming the labour movement.
it's my observation that those who fight fascism or totalitarianism will, if they are successful, become more powerful, and they will need to be fully aware of themselves or else they will always become a new totalitarian alternative.
Personally this is why i cannot believe in "positive discrimination". There's no such thing. discrimination and totalitarianism are always restricted social environments, and this in turn will always mean people are not able to achieve their full potential and work most efficiently.
unfortunately it seems to be trendy for less right wing organisations to support various forms of positive discrimination (like giving the Black Panthers an easy ride). By the way, do you have anything to show that the administration that's soft on the Black Panthers is also hard on the KKK? That would indeed be something interesting.
